Peace Symposium 2017 – Speeches in Full

This Symposium is a key event of the Community held at the largest mosque in Western Europe and this year marks the 14th to date. The event promotes a deeper understanding of Islam and other faiths and seeks to inspire a concerted effort for lasting peace. This year’s theme is Global conflicts and the need for Justice. More than 800 guests attend the unique event including Secretaries of State, parliamentarians, diplomats, faith and civic leaders as well as representatives from numerous charities and faith communities. Guests will also get an opportunity to be given a guided tour of the mosque complex. Jane Ellison MP becomes 1st President of the Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce

Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce has just appointed the MP for Battersea, Jane Ellison as its first President and Sarah Banham, Communications Director of Battersea Power Station, as Vice President. Richard Tracey from the GLA and Nick Smales from Wandworth Council were present as well as about 70 people attended from a wide variety of businesses and organisations, including a strong presence from the care sector, South Thames College, and Wandsworth Chamber and guests. http://www.wandsworthchamber.org @WandsChamber
