  1. Continental Landscapes, who have this Contract, constantly leave Bags & Bags of waste on the street corners for Days at a time. This creates their own form of Flytipping, which the council seem happy to overlook. Complaints to the Council are ignored. Other residents see this and seem to feel it is then OK to add their own rubbish to this horrendous mess. Council say that you could be fined 'Thousands' for Flytipping, yet they pay Millions to someone to create exactly that !!! Please make a Video of that…

  3. I could never ever understand why British sanitation workers don't pick up bulky waste as part of their routine collections. Try charging extra for basic things such as waste removal and your city / country will turn into a dump.

    1. I was told by a council that it's because they've a good idea how much routine rubbish there is and allocate bin wagons accordingly. Unexpected items like mattresses and white goods throw these calculations out of the window, and some may not go through the compacting mechanism on the wagon. My council used to hold "Big Rubbish Days" whereby larger items could be left on the kerbside and they were collected with dropside tippers instead of regular bin wagons, the Pikeys usually come round a couple of hours before the Council and remove all the scrap metal!

    1. I live in Ottawa, Canada and we have garbage collection every second week. They pick up mattresses, couches and chairs. I think there would be less dumping if the garbage taxes covered items like this. How much money is spent on cleaning up illegal dumping and paying investigators?
