Local business spotlight – Southfields SW18

This is the first in a series of videos by Quick Brown Fox (see link below) supporting independent local businesses in and around London. The initiative was launched on Black Friday 2014 and shortly before Small Business Saturday on 6 December to remind people to buy from the independents. We hope you enjoy these stories and please contact us if you're a Small Business with a story to tell. Because we'd love to tell it and share it with local audiences. Shhhhh! Wimbledon Wishes is coming to Centre Court…

We all know someone truly deserving of a Christmas wish come true and at Centre Court, you will be invited to nominate someone you know who is deserving of an amazing Wimbledon Wish this Christmas. It’s astonishingly simple. If you want to nominate someone, just go to the Upper Mall in Centre Court and make your Wimbledon Wish in a dedicated booth from November 29 until Saturday December 7. Wishes can be wide ranging and creative. And whether it’s for a Christmas feast courtesy of Marks & Spencer Simply Food, a stylish festive makeover courtesy of Toni & Guy or the biggest, cuddliest teddy bear imaginable from the Build-A-Bear Workshop – the Centre Court Christmas helpers will be working hard to make as many of those wishes come true as possible from December 8 until December 25. A host of partners are preparing to help to make these wishes come true and any business in the area can get involved as we aim to make this great community initiative reach as many people as possible. So far Centre Court Shopping Centre, Time & Leisure Magazine, AFC Wimbledon, New Wimbledon Theatre & Love Wimbledon will be helping to light up the holiday season by lending their support to help make local Wimbledon residents’ Christmas wishes come true. ‘We could not be more excited about our unique Christmas venture at Centre Court,’ says Suzy Wood, centre director. ‘We wanted a feel-good campaign that would involve the entire Wimbledon community and embrace the spirit of Christmas. Right now, the shopping centre feels like Santa’s workshop, with everyone preparing to make this year a truly memorable one. ‘Come visit us and make a Wimbledon Wish for someone you love, or someone you know truly deserves to be spoiled this Christmas. And dream big - Centre Court and our partners will do all we can make your Christmas Wimbledon Wish come true.’ Mike Reed of Time & Leisure said ‘Any business can potentially get involved by promoting the campaign and offering to help make a wish come true. I have no doubt we’ll hear some great stories through the booth at Centre Court Shopping Centre. It’s a great initiative and we are really proud to be supporting it’ Any business who would like to help simply need to email Emily Palmer Emily.Palmer@centrecourtshopping.co.uk , promote the campaign as much as possible and wait for the wishes to come in. Watch out for videos of the Centre Court team making wishes come true across their website, FB page, Twitter page and partners channels - and join the discussion on Twitter using the hashtag #wimbledonwishes.

NEW SERIES: Al and Ian’s Comedy Field Notes, Episode 1

Al Cowie and Ian Hawkins bring you the first in their new series of, well, field notes about the comedy scene in London and further afield. Enjoy. Unless you're a video professional. In which case please marvel at the botched chroma-keying and audio. We don't mind. Actually we do, and the guilty have been punished. Twice. Each.
