Mia will be getting involved in pretty much every aspect of online TV production from filming, directing and editing (a particular interest) to research, scripting and location scouting, reaching out to new contacts and organisations across SW London, and maximising our coverage both on YouTube and other key social media platforms.

Career

Mia is exploring her passion for all things TV and currently completing a Masters in Broadcast Journalism at City University. She is exploring local stories on a weekly basis and meeting new and exciting people wherever she goes. Before this Mia was heavily involved in Musical Theatre whilst completing her degree at Durham, where she starred in several productions; her favorite being Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd!

Mia loves volunteering at Radio Chelsea and Westminster, watching comedies and most importantly spending time with her family. She also loves to cook and has constantly got her nose in a recipe book!

Two years at film school in London then a career of 15 years as a stills photographer for the BBC with programmes such as Nationwide, That’s Life, Panorama, BBC News and also on film lots and light entertainment programmes. Now making short films and documentaries.

Career

Stretching the boundaries of South West London to, um, South West England! Steve is actually based in Southampton at the moment but has lived in Clapham, Tooting and Kensington previously. He spent several years in the late naughties freelancing for The BP Video Library, Teachers TV, Radio Children and Comic Relief which came after his Fdg in Broadcast Post Production at Ravensbourne (the funny looking honeycomb building by The O2) where he completed a Fdg in Broadcast Post Production. He has been with SWL.TV since the start thanks to Keith Maynard.

Steve produces a weekly green-screen video for a new ‘disruptive’ energy company based in Ireland, and in his spare time he enjoys watching ‘The Saints’ mediocre attempts at Premier League football (see SaintsFan.TV). He doesn’t enjoy exercise very much but has made attempts at Yoga, trail running, Badminton and paragliding. He creates websites and also publishes books with Amazon.

Victor is a Middlesex University, SAE Institute Audio Production BSc [Hons] graduate with over 15 years experience in the TV and radio industry. He specialises in sleek filming and editing for a number of family friendly brands, products and services.

He regularly works with PR & media agencies all over London filming and editing corporate videos, promotional films and clips for social media. Most of the content he delivers is destined for social media platforms and for the last 2 years Victor has run The Quick Brown Fox Video Production, a video production company specialising in video content for small and medium size businesses.

After graduating with an MA in Media Studies from Roehampton University in 2007, Jo went on to work in student support. Her continued love for media and film lead to the completion of a foundation course in film production in 2013 and since then Jo has been building up her editing portfolio. Jo now works full time as a Production Assistant and part time as a Freelance Editor.

James is a Ravensbourne Post Production BA(Hons) graduate and a keen member of the university alumni. With over 6 years experience in the film industry James has made a name for himself in the high end London freelance market and owns a large amount of professional cinema production kit.

James has worked with numerous organisations and charities in South London producing corporate videos, promotional films and marketing strategies. Increasingly his work is web-based and for the last 2 years James has run White Horse Design, a web development and film company specialising in advanced content management and video systems, including the development of the SWL.TV backend!
