Wandsworth councillor Aled Richards-Jones joined SW London TV on a stroll down Northcote Road to see how closing the street to weekend traffic is helping the town centre’s businesses.
This Summer saw some 30+ Wandsworth councillors from all parties come together to film 7 popular children's stories by Julia Donaldson and Alex Sheffler (of "Gruffalo" fame). Many thanks to MacMillan Publishers for giving blanket permission to do this during the difficult months of Coronavirus and Lockdown, and Sandra Evangelista from Wandsworth Council for her concept, vision and drive, without which none of these lovely short films would've been made.

Over the past fortnight the council has collected around 130 tonnes of unwanted trees. These will all now be turned into compost, some of which can be used in the borough’s parks and open spaces.
Most were picked up from front gardens - but many thousands also had to be removed from Wandsworth’s 440 miles of pavement after people dumped theirs on the street.
