Wimbledon BookFest partnered with Chocolate Films to teach sixth formers film making skills in a project funded by the Wimbledon Foundation. Sixth formers from 8 local schools took part and made short documentary films profiling individuals from the local community as part of the London wide project 1000londoners.com. Film subjects included actor Arnold Oceng, literary agent Peter Straus and GP Siyana Shaffi, who is running a project with refugees in Greece. Participating schools were St Mark's Academy, Graveney, Wimbledon College, Southfields Academy, Raynes Park High, Ricards/Rutlish (RR6) and Ursuline High. The films will be released on www.1000londoners.com every Monday from 17 October 2016.
